Investing through James Hay SIPP or Wrap

Within the legislative and HMRC framework that governs SIPPs, and the regulatory environment in which the Wrap service operates, our services enable funds to be invested very much as clients and their Financial Advisers wish.

Investment Centre

Our Investment Centre offers the benefit of discounts on many unit trusts and OEICS and gives pension investors access to some funds not normally available to private individuals.

All of these funds can be purchased, sold or switched online, 24 hours a day, 7 day a week.

Currently there are no transaction charges for buy, sell or switch trades, in addition to no initial charges applied by James Hay. This means that approximately 90% of the funds in the Investment Centre carry absolutely no initial charge, whilst for the remaining 10% only the fund manager’s charge (of on average 0.33%) applies. All the charges, and funds available are detailed in the Wrap Funds list, Select Funds list and the Collect Funds list

You and your client can take advantage of James Hay’s wide range of fund and investment choices, and the benefits this range brings (encompassing most major investment providers). We can buy and sell a wide range of retail investments, as directed, including OEICs, UCITS and life assurance bonds, from approved fund managers and investment providers in the UK and offshore. We also have the facility to buy and administer Commercial Properties on behalf of SIPP members.

Through an appointed investment manager, or stockbroker, it is possible to buy and sell Equities on a wide range of recognised stock exchanges.

For those who wish to purchase Derivatives this can be done via UK based, FSA registered Broker, subject to certain terms and conditions applied by James Hay.

Structured Products

For pension investors – especially those at or nearing retirement – structured products provide the opportunity of an attractive potential return with 100% protection of their capital at maturity.

Special Deposit Account

James Hay is able to offer a cash investment via a 3, 6, 9 or 12 month Fixed Term Deposit Account through Cater Allen Private Bank, which like James Hay, is part of the Santander Group. This cash account is available for deposits over £50,000 and interest rates can be viewed daily.

• Some investments carry a higher degree of risk than others and investments such as Commercial Property have limited liquidity, restricting the ability to sell the investment quickly.
• To ensure an appropriate level of service to our customers, we have arrangements with the majority of Investment Providers to supply us with information about the investment. Should the Investment Provider you selected to invest with not be able to provide us with this information, we will decline the application with this Investment Provider. This is because the information is needed to ensure that we keep effective records and protect our clients’ assets. We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause.
